If you’re a small business and you have any sort of status, 8a, SDVOSB, WOSB, SDB, ANC, ISBEE, or anything else that I might have missed, you need to listen up. One of the challenges that I see all the time for government contractors that have a status is, that they spend a lot of time and energy getting the status and then they don’t use it properly. People will call me up and say, “I’ve got this status, but people won’t return my calls and I’m not winning contracts.” The first question I always ask is: Have you sat down with the OSDBU or the OSBP? The Office of Small Disadvantaged Business Utilization or the Office of Small Business Programs is there to be your advocate.
